Dr Christopher Sim is the founder and clinical director of Mount Elizabeth Dental Surgery since 1986.He is a Singapore Dental Council (SDC) Certified Specialist in Prothodontics. A Prosthodontist is a trained dental specialist in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, crown & bridges and dental implants. Dr Christopher Sim obtained his dental degree from the National University of Singapore in 1981.He completed his specialist training from the renowned Institute of Dental Surgery, Eastman Dental Hospital (University of London) in 1984. He is also the founding member of the Singapore Prosthodontic Society in 1991. In 1998 he was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine. In 2003,he was conferred FAMS ( Prosthodontics ) by the Academy of Medicine. Dr Sim also obtained his Cert. in Oral Implantology ( with Distinction) from the University of Frankfurt,Germany in 2004. In recognition of his standing as a specialist prosthodontist, Dr Sim was conferred the prestigious Fellow College of Dental Surgeon (Singapore) in 2010.
In 1998, Dr Sim was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and is on the Academy of Medicine Roll of Dental Specialist. In 2003 he was accredited as a Specialist in Prosthodontics by the Academy of Medicine .
Dr Sim has a special interest in Implant Dentistry and has been involved in this exciting field since 1991. He has had the privilege of training in the area of Oral Implantology under his mentor, Prof Dr George-H Nentwig . Prof Dr Nentwig is the Head of Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Implantology at the University of Frankfurt/Main. In 2003, Dr Sim was awarded Cert. in Oral Implantology (with Distinction) from University of Frankfurt/Main Germany . In 2003, Dr Sim gained international recognition when he was conferred Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist with certification in both Implant Surgery and Implant Prosthetics.
Dr Sim’s forte in Implant Dentistry is that he is able to provide seamless treatment for his patients as he does both Implant Surgery and Implant Prosthetics.
Dr Sim has given lectures on Implant Dentistry both locally and around the region. He is a teaching Faculty Member of the Frankurt/Main University for the Cert .in Oral Implantology Course in Singapore .
In recognition of his experience and expertise in the field of Dental Implants since 2007, Dr Sim has been appointed as a Course Director of the Apsun Dental Implant Education and Research Centre, Korea .
Dr Sim is also a pioneer in Cosmetic Dentistry. With his background in restorative dentistry, he started using porcelain veneers to improve his patients’ smiles as early as 1988. Since then he has transformed and beautified countless smiles for his patients. Some of his early veneer cases done in the late 1980s are still fully-functional to this present day.
Dr Sim was also a former member of the Editorial Review Board of the Singapore Dental Journal. He was also a former Council Member for the Chapter of the Dental Surgeon, Academy of Medicine as well as a founding member of the Singapore Prosthodontic Society in 1991.
